Former Voodoo Lounge in Cedar Falls Transforms into Irish Pub
After sitting empty for a year and a half, a premiere space in Downtown Cedar Falls is once again occupied.
Towards the end of October, there were rumblings about a business moving into the old Voodoo Lounge that was located in 401 Main Street.
It turns out that the nightclub spot was being transformed into an Irish pub.
Goodbye to Voodoo Lounge...
News broke in Spring of 2023 that the popular nightlife spot would be closing its doors for good. Voodoo Lounge moved into the space at 401 Main Street in 2015.
After eight years, the club shut down on May 20th.
According to an earlier report, Tony DeSalvo, the President of the Harmonic Hospitality Group said that the lease on the space expired and that his team had plans to spend time "polishing our operations in these concepts and successfully take them to other markets."
This group owns and operates popular bars and eateries in Downtown Cedar Falls such as Roxxy's, Deringer's, Double Tap, the Stuffed Olive, and of course Voodoo Lounge.
...And Hello to Shelly O'Shea's!
On Thursday, October 31st a new bar opened in this space in Downtown Cedar Falls.
This spot is called Shelly O'Shea's and is described as "a new kind of Irish super pub and party bar." Inside of O'Shea's there are three large bars, five pool tables, three dart boards, and some video games.
Plus, they will be hosting live DJ's during the weekend.
