While the weather is getting colder and colder every single day, we can't help but think ahead to warmer temperatures, deep fried food on a stick, and some stellar concerts.

In nine months, people from all across the Midwest and even the nation will be flocking to Des Moines for the Iowa State Fair. According to officials, the 2023 fair was the second highest attended one in event history.

1,133,958 individuals attended the iconic Iowa event.

One of the big draws to the fair is music.

First Grandstand Acts Announced For 2024

In an official announcement from Iowa State Fair officials, several big names will be kicking off the fair in 2024.

On opening night, August 8th, Lauren Daigle will be starting off the Grandstand acts. She will be joined by special guest Blessing Offor for this special show.

Daigle is a contemporary Christian musician and songwriter. Her debut album 'How Can It Be' in 2015, and it quickly rose to the top of the charts.

Ticket Prices: $35 to $65

Officials also announced the act that is set to take the stage the next night on Friday, August 9th.

On their historic Farewell Tour, rock legend FOREIGNER will perform in Des Moines. The group is one of the world’s biggest-selling bands of all time, according to reports.

This legendary band will be joined by another legend in the music world, Melissa Etheridge. 

Ticket Prices: $35 to $70

Tickets for both of these shows will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 1st at 10:00 AM on the official Iowa State Fair website.

While no additional details were provided about some of the other acts that will be taking the stage in Des Moines, Fair officials did confirm that two more Grandstand acts will be announced before the end of the year!
