This Saturday, November 9 at the U.S. Cellular Center, it's the "Hometown Heroes" concert, featuring Bret Michaels, Night Ranger, Lita Ford and Joe Nichols.

The show is going to be a great time, but even more, a chance to recognize local heroes for the difference they make in people's lives. For weeks, we've been asking you to submit your nominations. We are now proud to announce that we have our honorees.

We'll recognize each of them separately on the air each day this week, and together at the concert Saturday, where they will each get two tickets, meet & greets with Bret Michaels, onstage recognition and KDAT swag.

Congratulations today to Ainsworth fire chief Waylon Schultz, nominated by Amanda Schultz, who said, in part:

He has been on the Ainsworth Fire Department since age 18.  He puts his heart and soul into every call he responds to.

In addition to his work with the fire department, he's been a hero to the community helping build wheelchair ramps for those in need of them in the community, coaching baseball and softball, being on a racing pit crew, raising 3 teenagers of his own, PLUS being in the process of adopting an 18-month old baby girl his family has been fostering.

Thanks to Waylon Schultz for being a true hometown hero. We look forward to meeting and honoring him on Saturday night.
