KDAT Proudly Presents: Variety’s Two Days Of Compassion Radiothon
On Thursday, December 11, and Friday, December 12, 2025, 104.5 KDAT is proud to participate in the Variety Children’s Charity “Two Days of Compassion” Radiothon to support The Compassion Fund.
And don’t worry, when we say “radiothon,” that does not mean we’re stopping the Christmas music or filling the day with sad stories.
This event is all about giving, hope, and making a real difference for Iowa kids and their families.
KDAT will continue playing Christmas music, Brokke and Jeffrey will do their normal show, and all your favorite DJs will still be here.
Throughout the two days, we’ll simply share important Variety stories and encourage listeners to donate.
To give, call 319-364-6400 or visit Variety’s website.

How the Compassion Fund Helps Sick Children
The Compassion Fund steps in during the most difficult moments of a family’s life. Donations help provide:
Gas cards for frequent travel to appointments
Meals for parents who spend weeks at the hospital
Payment of urgent bills like phone, heat, or electricity
A birthday cake for a child spending their big day in a hospital bed
Childcare for siblings when parents need to stay with their ill child
It also helps ensure a parent can remain by their child’s bedside, offers comfort during long hospital stays, and sometimes provides small moments of joy, like a special meal or activity, to brighten a child’s day.
Hospital social workers say even a small amount of help can give families emotional strength that lasts for days or weeks.
Knowing that strangers care gives them hope and helps them see a way forward.
Once the radiothon begins, you can donate anytime by calling 319-364-6400 or visiting the official website.
