A 61-year-old Springville woman was severely injured in a one-vehicle accident on County Home Road Wednesday afternoon.

Linn County Sheriff's Deputies, along with Linn County Rescue, Marion Fire, Area Ambulance, and Lifeguard responded to the accident scene at County Home Road and Jordans Grove Road at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Jordans Grove Road is located just east of the mid-point between Highway 13 and Whittier.

According to a release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, Melissa Davidson of Springville was traveling east on County Home Road when she lost control of the vehicle she was driving and entered the north ditch just west of Jordans Grove Road. Her vehicle then rolled several times before coming to rest on its side.

Davidson was taken by Lifeguard helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and her injuries are considered to be life-threatening.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the accident.
