The Iowa Donor Network is praising a new law signed by Governor Kim Reynolds. Called 'Logan's Law', it makes it easier for Iowans to become an organ donor. The law is named after Logan Luft of Charles City, Iowa.

Luft died in an ATV crash in 2017. His donated organs saved the lives of 5 people. The new law will give people the option to become an organ donor when they go to purchase a hunting, fishing, or fur harvesting license. The Iowa Donor Networks says that will get even more people to sign up to be a donor.

The Iowa Donor Networks says that giving people more options to sign up is the key. Right now, you can become an organ donor when you go to the DMV or to their website. Currently, 73% of Iowans are listed as organ donors. And while that is above the national average officials say there is still a big need. There are over 113,000 people waiting for organs in the U.S. and over 600 just in the state of Iowa.

You could save a life by being an organ donor. Thank you to Logan's Law for making it easier.
