Major Portion of I-74 will be Entirely Closed for a Year

Pack your stress ball, find your happy place, and take a few deep breaths. You're going to need all your strength if you take I-74 regularly.

The Moline Police Department has officially released a map of closures and detours needed for construction on the new bridge and it's – well it's a dumpster fire. See for yourself:

To be clear, it's not that I-74 is being funneled down to one lane at the bridge. Starting Monday, the portion of the interstate between Avenue of the Cities to the River Drive entrance will be closed entirely. So if you're heading west, you'll have to get off at Avenue of the Cities and circle around to River Drive to get on the bridge (which will also be down to one lane).

For the last few weeks, the River Drive entrance has been sporadically closed. Now, it's going to be the ONLY entrance for I-74 West. Even worse, this is going to be the way things are for "roughly a year" according to I-74 officials on Facebook.
