According to authorities, a Cedar Falls man whose body was found Monday, November 27, was the victim of a brutal murder.

31-year-old Curtis Ross went to Appanoose County on Thanksgiving Day (November 23). He was reported missing two days later before his body was found in the Lake Rathbun area. KCCI says authorities have arrested 27-year-old Ethan Landon Davis (pictured below) and charged him with murder in the first degree. Davis is from Promise City, Iowa, southwest of Lake Rathbun, in Wayne County.

According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, the Iowa State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Ross' body which showed he had died of multiple stab and gunshot wounds.

Davis was arrested on charges not related to this case. He now faces first-degree murder charges in Ross' death and is being held on a $1 million cash bond in the Wayne County Jail in Corydon.
