Man Injured in Weekend Crash in Cedar Rapids Has Died
A Van Horne man who was injured in a Saturday evening accident has died.
According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, Cedar Rapids police and firefighters were called to the scene of a truck-motorcycle accident at the corner of 6th Street and America Drive SW Saturday evening at 6:40.
Emergency crews arrived to find a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche had hit a 2008 Harley-Davidson FLHR Road King in the intersection of 6th and America.
55-year-old Kevin Lee Lauver of Van Horne was driving the motorcycle and was transported to air ambulance to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, with serious injuries. Lauver passed away Sunday at 4:20 a.m.
19-year-old Diavi L. McDuffy of Cedar Rapids was driving the truck and was not injured. She was not injured.
No charges have been filed and the investigation continues.
