Matchbox Twenty Christen the Stage at a Renamed Venue in Moline
Coming up on Saturday night October 7, Matchbox Twenty, and opener Matt Nathanson, will be the first acts to perform at the new TaxSlayer Center in Moline, Illinois, formerly known as the iWireless Center. If you haven't heard much about that change, you can learn more here.
This is going to be an outstanding concert featuring a group who, in the late 1990s ushered in a new and unique sound with songs like "Push", "Real World", "3am", "Unwell" and more. Lead singer Rob Thomas has gone on to have quite a solo career as well, most notably teaming with Santana to record the monster hit "Smooth".
104-5 KDAT was honored to give away several pairs of tickets to this show. Shanda Heath, Chantry Noel, Andrea Werner and Kay Kula will all be attending the event Saturday night. We congratulate them and hope they enjoy it!
You may not actually realize just how many big hits Matchbox Twenty are responsible for. They play a large number of them, along with several covers, as noted in the playlist via setlist.fm from a recent concert in Texas.
