Iowa State fans have lived in fear for the past several years as head coach Matt Campbell's name has risen to the top of many schools' coaching wish lists. Cyclone fans hold their collective breath every off-season praying Campbell doesn't leave for a bigger school. There was talk of Ohio State. And this year the fear he would leave for Notre Dame. But Campbell stayed put in Ames. Perhaps he had his sights on Sundays instead.

The two teams actually played each other in week 18 of the NFL regular season, a game that according to Heavy.com, Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell attended. That shouldn't really surprise football fans. After all former Cyclone running back, David Montgomery plays for Chicago, and Iowa State's all-time leader in kick return yards, Kene Nwangu, plays for Minnesota. But some believe it was Campbell beginning the interview process with the Vikings.
