Evidently, Melissa McCarthy's May 13 Saturday Night Live hosting gig might stop traffic.

McCarthy, who will host SNL for the fifth time this weekend, was spotted by CNN editor Elana Zak this morning (May 12) filming as White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, whom she's been impersonating on the show since January. More specifically, she was spotted kind of stopping traffic by zooming around the streets of Manhattan on Spicer's very own motorized podium. Yup, Spicey has officially hit the streets.

"McCarthy is the only bright spot we have! Give that woman an Emmy just for the bit of hope!" one of Zak's followers responded, while another noted "He's not IN traffic, he's AMONG the traffic" (the latter, of course, is in reference to a report that Spicer hid in bushes in the aftermath of FBI Director James Comey's firing).

McCarthy told The Ellen Degeneres Show in March that a friend at NBC first suggested she play Spicer, and she was amazed (and a little horrified) by how seamlessly the character developed.

“I was like, ‘What? How am I going to do that?’ And cut to somebody saying like, ‘Boy, do you really look like that guy!’ I was like, ‘Wait a minute!'” she explained.

“I look so much like my dad,” she added. “I feel like my dad and Sean Spicer had a baby, and it’s me. Which makes it even stranger.”

Haim will be the musical guest on the next SNL, the season's penultimate episode.
