You may recognize him from many different commercials and print ads, and he's appeared on shows like 'Grey's Anatomy'. Now he's getting a more consistent part on a show that's been on television for nearly 60 years.

Michael Blake Kruse has landed the role of rookie police officer Rory Cabrera for the fictional Port Charles Police Department on the long-running soap opera 'General Hospital'. The show first aired in April of 1963 and is the longest-running American soap opera still in production.

Even though Kruse's first episode on the show happened just a week ago today, he's already made a lot of fans. According to a tweet from Kruse, he's had people ask him to arrest them at random. I guess they want to spend some time with the handsome former Iowan any way they can.

According to the Times-Republican, Kruse grew up in Conrad, Iowa after moving from the west coast with his parents, who both served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He graduated from BCLUW High School in central Iowa and played college baseball at Pella's Central College before heading back to California to pursue acting after his 2012 graduation.

SoapHub reports Kruse actually signed his first talent contract in 2010 and he's been in commercials and/or print ads for everything from Coca-Cola to Nike, Amazon, and Samsung in the last decade-plus. I mentioned an appearance on 'Grey's Anatomy', but two years ago Kruse also showed up on 'Criminal Minds'.

Congrats on 'General Hospital', Michael. We wish you continued success!
