It may be great news that the weather remains nice enough to head out on the bike, but it's also important to remain alert for deer.

Kelly Sullivan, a rider of a 2006 Harley-Davidson was injured around 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the 7600 block of North Union Road in Black Hawk County. A deer entered the roadway and Sullivan collided with it, losing control of his bike and ended up in the ditch.

He was able to call 911, get help and be transported Unity Point Health Allen Hospital with injuries that were reported as non-life-threatening.

Sullivan is 32 and from Cedar Falls, according to the Black Hawk County sheriff's office, who responded to the incident and were assisted by Janesville Fire, Janesville First Responders, and MercyOne-Cedar Falls ambulance.
