Music Festival In Cedar Rapids This Weekend

There's a party in the sand this weekend in Cedar Rapids!

Sandfest 2, is an all-day music festival showcasing some of Iowa's best local talent. The 2nd annual event is happening this Saturday, June 8th at Sandlot Sports from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sandlot Sports is located behind Twisters Gymnastics at 4655 Tower Terrace Road.

Local musicians will be rocking the stage that will be surrounded by 23 sand volleyball courts and an island bar. There will be multiple vendors ranging from food, jewelry, and even Tai massages for just $1!

An organization called Young Creatives created the festival to bring more awareness to not only the local scene of entertainment but also to help Sandlot Sports gain more buzz in the area.

During the day, the event is open to all ages. The night portion of the festival starts at 9 p.m., and you must be 21-years or older for that. Tickets are just $15 and can be purchased at the door, or at a reduced price online by clicking here.
