Do you feel like all the clutter in your life is weighing you down? Do you want to learn how to become more efficient and organized?

Minimalism is not just a trend, it's a lifestyle. That is the message of Joshua Becker, the founder and editor of the website "Becoming Minimalist", who will be giving a talk in Cedar Rapids this Thursday, March 9th at the Cedar Rapids Marriott.

He will be the keynote speaker at the Professional Women's Network Colleague Event.

According to the event page at our website, he will teach you the principles to live a better life with less, recognize the life-giving benefits of owning less, and realize how all the "stuff" you own could be keeping you from pursuing your dreams.

I follow Becker at his Becoming Minimalist Facebook page and I've gotten a lot of good tips, especially in my recent move. He tells you, among other things, that simply buying more storage to organize the stuff you own, is not organizing at all. It's about getting rid of the unnecessary stuff itself. It's not as hard as you think.

If this all sounds interesting to you, and you'd like to learn more, you are encouraged to attend the event at the Marriott on Thursday.

Registration for the event is $45 a person or $350 for a group of 10, and begins at 7:30 a.m. A breakfast and networking event will follow at 8:30, and Becker gives his speech from 8:30-9:30.
