Your kids can't stay up all night, and you probably can't either anymore, right? Even if they could, those New Year's Eve celebrations are fun, but not necessarily family-friendly.

That's okay, because "Noon Year's Eve" events are happening all over Eastern Iowa . They feature entertainment, music, activities and food for the whole gang, letting you celebrate all the pomp and circumstance of "ringing in the New Year" and still be in bed at a reasonable hour.

The following locations are putting on these FREE events on Monday:

  • Hy-Vee Collins Road, 279 Collins Rd. NE Cedar Rapids
    • Monday, December 31st 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
      • Hot chocolate Bar, Face painting, Balloon Animals, Cookie Decorating, Photo Backdrop with Props and of course a BALLOON DROP! The first 100 kids during this event will receive a party hat, beads and noise maker!
  • Marion Public Library, 1095 6th Ave. Marion
    • Monday, December 31 11 a.m.-Noon
      • Snacks, crafts, dance party and a countdown to the "Noon Year"
  • Cedar Rapids Public Library, 450 5th Ave. SE Cedar Rapids
