Things got out of hand last night in Davenport.

According to the Des Moines Register, "Two people were killed in four shootings after rioting broke out in Davenport."

This all happened on Sunday, May 31st, around 10 p.m. Davenport police received several calls about rioters near the NorthPark Mall. The story said there were over 100 vehicles at the location starting to protest.

The story said around 3 a.m. officers were ambushed in the area of Myrtle street. Shots were fired and four victims suffered gunshot wounds. One of the victims was a Davenport police officer. The officer was rushed to the hospital and is doing okay.

Out of the four victims, two died as a result of the wounds. The third was the police officer, and no word on the other person that was involved in the shootings.

Police in Davenport are now investigating and treating this as a homicide. We will continue to follow this story and provide updates as soon as more information is released to the public.

KWQC is reporting a county-wide nightly curfew is now in effect until further notice in Scott County. Davenport is the county seat of Scott County.
