It was named one of River Travel Magazine's "5 Most Romantic Couples Getaways" of 2019 and you can immediately see why.

The view of the Mississippi River from this $145 a night pad is impeccable at the "Old Mill House" in LeClaire, Iowa, once the home of the town's actual wood mill workers. The 600-square-foot guest house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Here is more description from the Airbnb listing:

Situated on the Mighty Mississippi, the Old Mill Guest House (the lower level of the building), contains all the historic charm of the town it resides in. Our "cabin-like" rental, although a two bedroom, is 600 sq. ft. - so with four adults it IS cozy. (We've had as many as 6 stay, but we would not recommend that many.) With two couples, I would make sure you like the other couple, in fact, it can actually add to the charm!

The bedroom has a non-locking sliding door and the bathroom adjoins. A Chiropractor is available during the day on the main floor. Appointments may be necessary, but Dr. Crystal would be happy to schedule your session. LeClaire is known as an industrial town so you will occasionally contend with the sound of trains. The views more than make up for it

The kitchen is small but features a sink, small refrigerator, coffee and coffee maker, microwave, and an electric stove with oven. The living area has a big-screen television with cable and complimentary HBO!  Complimentary toiletries include soap, shampoo, hairdryer, toilet paper, kleenex, paper towels and it's a short distance from a popular brewery! Need we say more. Check out the Captain's Quarters below, hosted by John and Deb who also have an additional listing for the Old Mill House available here.
