Rupert Grint Admits ‘There Was Always Something’ Between Emma Watson and Tom Felton
Emma Watson and Tom Felton had a "spark," according to their Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint.
The actor, who played Ron Weasley in the films, was asked about those Watson-Felton romance rumors that often get sparked after either of them hang out or post photos on social media. Though Grint said he didn't want to "start anything," he did say there was definitely "always something" between the actors behind the scenes.
"Yeah, I could [see them together]. There was always something," he told Entertainment Tonight. "There was a little bit of a spark. I don’t want to start anything. No, not really [no one dated on set]."
"There were some sparks, but we were kids," Grint added. "It was like any kind of playground romance, yeah. I didn't have any sparks. I was spark-free."
We're not surprised if something was going on with them back in the day. These days, they're both single so you never know when a spark can turn romantic.
In a recent interview with The Daily Mail, Felton opened up about his relationship with Watson, calling her an "incredibly smart and lovely young lady" that he's happy to know and call a friend. In fact, he even shared his thoughts on her "self-partnered" analogy, admitting he identifies with Watson's newly-invented term.
"I like it! It’s the first I’ve heard of it, but it’s great. I’m in the same category, to be honest with you, quite happily self-partnered," he revealed. "I think in this day and age it’s not a necessity to be with someone just for the sake of being with someone, so I like the idea of self-partnering. I think you need to love yourself before you can love anyone else, so that’s a start."
As for their impromptu meet-ups and reunions, Felton said, "It’s always nice to bump into each other and slightly reminisce about old times but also about looking forward to the future."
