I don't know about you, but the pandemic has me spending a whole lot of time at home watching TV. In the past several months, I've re-watched all of my favorite shows about 100 times, but recently I was inspired to branch out and watch some new content. Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime have all added some great stuff to their line-up in the last few weeks, so I thought I'd share with you a few of my favorites! If you're looking for something new to binge-watch, hopefully one of these titles will interest you:

  • Unsolved Mysteries - Netflix
    • The true crime docuseries from the 80s is back with some fresh material. Netflix has now released 12 new episodes of the series, each of which outlines an unsolved crime or unexplainable mystery. Six new episodes were just released this week, and one of them actually took place right next to my hometown. Episode five, "Lady of the Lake," documents the mysterious death of a mother in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, just a short drive away from St. Clair Shores. Another episode examines the ghost encounters that took place in a specific region of Japan after that massive tsunami hit in 2011. Each and every story is captivating and I can't wait for more!
  • The Boys - Amazon Prime
    • Imagine The Avengers, but if all of the heroes were actually terrible. That's 'The Boys.' The show reminds me of 'Game of Thrones' because of how scandalous and unpredictable it is. The second season was just recently released in its entirety, but don't plan on watching it with the family! It has definitely earned its mature rating.
  • My Octopus Teacher - Netflix
    • 'My Octopus Teacher' is an hour and a half documentary that was released last month. It's about a filmmaker that befriends an octopus while diving in a kelp forest in South Africa. The documentary takes place over the course of almost a year, with the documentarian coming back every single day to see her. I never thought I would cry over an octopus, but by the end of the film I was blubbering like a baby!
  • The Cabin with Bert Kreischer - Netflix
    • 'The Cabin' is a new five-episode comedy special starring one of my favorite comedians on the planet, Bert Kreischer. He takes a trip to a cabin in the woods and invites some famous friends to come visit. Some of those friends include Anthony Anderson, Caitlyn Jenner, Nikki Glaser, Fortune Feimster, and Bobby Lee. My personal favorite episode was episode four featuring comedian Ms. Pat and actors Joel McHale and Kaley Cuoco. It was uncomfortable, awkward, and hilarious all at the same time!
  • PEN15 - Hulu
    • If you were in middle school in the late 90s/early 00s, 'PEN15' is going to give you a strong dose of nostalgia... ESPECIALLY if you weren't one of the "cool" kids. Get ready for gel pens, AIM, sleepover parties, and awful first kisses. Maya and Anna are two 7th grade girls (played by women in their early 30s) just trying to navigate the most horribly awkward period of their lives. The show is so hilariously cringey that you just can't look away. Season two just debuted on Hulu last month, but I managed to watch all 17 episodes in only 48-hours!
  • Schitt's Creek - Netflix
    • 'Schitt's Creek' is one of my top five shows ever created. Debuting in 2015, the series documents the downfall of the Rose family, who lose their riches and are forced to live in a motel in the small town of Schitt's Creek. Moira Rose (and her many wigs) is truly one of the greatest characters on television, and her son David has some of the most memorable quotes you'll ever have the pleasure of hearing. The show deserves every last award that its won. The sixth and final season was finally uploaded to Netflix in early October, so you can now enjoy the series in its entirety!
