According to KWWL, "Following nearly a half foot of snowfall, the City of Waterloo has declared a snow emergency."

There have been several reports of vehicles stuck in the snow all over the city. Because of this, the snow emergency will be in effect until 9 p.m. Sunday evening. Waterloo residents must move their vehicles from street parking so plows can clear the roads.

KWWL is also reporting there are over 500 people without power in Blackhawk and Bremer County. Mid American Energy has dispatched crews and they are in the process of restoring power in those areas.

Again, a snow emergency is effective in Waterloo until 9 p.m. Sunday evening. We will continue to follow this developing story and provide updates as soon as we learn more details.

Accumulating and blowing snow are the main concerns for the rest of the day. If you have to travel, please slow down and travel safe.
