For the last few years, Prairie Highschool has offered ag classes to its students. This year, the students get to take it a step further in its new Agriculture building.
Farmers now have better hybrids of corn, capability to efficiently plant more crops, and can even deal with pests on a whole new level, so this previous measurement is no longer accurate. Now, officials from the Iowa Corn Growers Association say that with the right conditions your corn crop could be about 8 feet tall by early to mid July.
As reported in Radio Iowa, an Iowa State University horticulture specialist (try saying that ten times fast) says that if there is another drastic drop in temperature most plants will be in the clear.
