I'm sure at some point our realtor told us there was a Walnut tree in our backyard. I should have listened more carefully.

Yes, I realize it is going to be 90 degrees right through the weekend. But fall starts on Friday and fall colors won't be far behind.

Fall officially began last week, but when the leaves will start to turn is anyone's guess.

I love living in such a scenic neighborhood. Until that barrage of leaves comes falling down and it's time to blow or rake them. But, now, thanks to some news from the National Wildlife Federation published in USA Today, I have a good excuse not to.

The leaves are quickly changing color and beginning to fall, so I guess it's no surprise today is the first day of the City of Cedar Rapids' autumn leaf vacuuming.  Leaves will still be collected on your normal trash day, but there is one surprise concerning leaf collection.
