Jersey Shore fans were disheartened to learn that a potential revival may have proven nothing more than a Burger King commercial, but fear not. The GTL and meatball crew is indeed reuniting on actual TV, as E! sets up a Reunion Road Trip.

Cultural touchstones come and go, and it seems like forever since the Jersey Shore kids were exhausting our capacity for acronyms. Most of said Shore-hounds have grown up and had their own kids by now, and might make us feel even older with an upcoming reunion special.

It was just over a month ago we learned that MTV wanted to put the Fear Factor in today’s youth with a Ludacris twist, making millennials dunk their cell phones rather than play gross-out games. Now, the first trailer for the youth-oriented revival looks a lot like the old series, because who doesn’t love beds full of maggots?

Elton John has made his first public appearance since falling “violently ill” last month – and he took the opportunity to slam the “MTV generation” for their lack of musical ability.

Let’s face it; Generation Z just doesn’t scare at a bed of worms, or a platter full of yak testicles. Thankfully, MTV wants to put the Fear Factor back into today’s youth, dunking cell phones in water and the like with a revival of the gross-out game show, as hosted by Furious franchise star Ludacris.

Beavis and Butthead might have gotten a second shot at life on MTV, but in lieu of spinoff Daria ever coming back, co-creator Susie Lewis has the next best thing. See what Daria, Quinn, Jane and Trent all look like in 2017, as the 20th anniversary brings out new designs and a look at their lives.

Remember the days of non-stop music videos and V-Jay's? ts not the same MTV that I grew up with. I'd love to see the original return.

Earlier this week marked the anniversary of a television (and music) milestone. On August 1, 1981 a new music channel called "MTV" signed on for the first time.

We make fun of James Franco an awful lot on the internet — remember his short-lived flirtation with a Blood Meridian adaptation before it turned out he never had the rights to the movie? — but credit where it is due: Franco isn’t afraid to lend his celebrity to some pretty challenging subject matter. And after checking out the first trailer for Goat, I think it’s safe to say that Franco’s work as both actor and producer were well-placed on this one.
