You don't have to travel far to get a taste of the best mozzarella sticks in the state of Iowa!

A new article from the website Eat This lists the most delicious mozzarella sticks in all 50 states, and I'm happy to report that one of my favorite places to order them is the winner for the state of Iowa!

Back in early 2021, it was revealed that Tic Toc would be reopening at 600 17th St NE in Cedar Rapids. Fans of the closed restaurant we're thrilled to hear the news, and one of the main reasons for that was the return of the famous mozz sticks. I had heard about the legendary cheese logs for years, but was never able to try them.... until March of last year.

When Tic Toc reopened, I headed over there for lunch as soon as possible so I could finally taste the mozzarella sticks. Because I had never had the original recipe, I can't tell you if they were exactly the same, but I can tell you that they were DELICIOUS.

It makes perfect sense that the mozzarella sticks from Tic Toc were chosen as the best in Iowa by Eat This! The article reads:

"When the dish reaches the table, you'll first notice the size. Each mozzarella stick is huge, easily enough to feed even the most devoted cheese fan. They are dunked in batter before frying, giving a different crisp taste than a breading. When you bite into the stick, it oozes melted cheese, making this stringy treat the best in Iowa."

The mozz sticks from Tic Toc are high up on my list of favorites, but I'm also a big fan of the ones from Parlor City Pub & Eatery.

However, the ones from Grin N Goose in Downtown Cedar Rapids will always be my #1 pick, even though the restaurant has closed and been replaced. I will dream of those fried cheese sticks for the rest of my life. May they rest in peace.
