You're going to have to wait a few more months to try this new Iowa restaurant!

There's a new article from the website Love Food that outlines each state's "best new restaurant to book in 2022," and the pick for Iowa will be exciting for sushi-lovers! They selected Yoso Modern Japanese as their new Iowa restaurant to look forward to this year.

Yoso Modern Japanese is a new restaurant going moving into the endcap of the TBK Bank Headquarters in downtown Bettendorf. According to the article:

"The slick steakhouse and sushi bar will focus on traditional robata-style grills using an open flame. There's a huge patio for long summer evenings too."

Owner Mike DeWitte told WQAD last summer that the grill is going to be displayed right in the middle of the restaurant, plus he offered up a few details about the food. The article says "there will also be sushi and other great Japanese and Asian dishes on the menu, as well as a full bar with a variety of sakes that you can sip on."

Back in November, the Downtown Bettendorf Organization reported that Yoso Modern Japanese was scheduled to open in the spring of 2022, but it looks like that has been postponed. The main page of Yoso's website states that the restaurant is now set to open in the fall/winter of 2022. There hasn't been an update to the official Facebook page since it was created in June of 2021.

While you wait for the opening of the new restaurant, you can enjoy some of the great sushi options here in the Corridor! MIX Sushi & Kitchen recently opened over in Uptown Marion, and Izumi Sushi & Hibachi opened in Downtown Cedar Rapids in late 2021. Check out more awesome sushi places in the area HERE.
