Fall is my favorite season, and there's no better place to experience this time of year than right here in the Midwest. Now, I might be biased, but I think the following pictures back me up:

It looks like we're nearing "peak week" around the area; in other words, the best time to see the colors of the season. On-air last week, I mentioned East Post Road as my favorite route in Cedar Rapids to drive and see fall colors. I had several callers chime in with their recommendations:

  • 1st Street NW and Ellis Boulevard
  • River Run Road
  • Edgewood Road between Blairs Ferry Road and 16th Avenue
  • Highway 965 between Cedar Rapids and North Liberty
