Sometimes, it's the little things that mean the most - like these secrets hidden inside the corridors of Veteran's Memorial Stadium, the home of our beloved Cedar Rapids Kernels. Call them "small comforts" or "hidden gems". They make our game day experience that much better. Did you know about all these tiny treasures?

Free sunscreen! Did you forget to lather up the kids before heading to the game? Still want to sit in the sun and catch some rays without worry?  No reason to hide in the shade. You will find free sunscreen stationed along the first base line near Section 104

Catch a foul ball? If you were lucky enough to catch a foul ball at the game you’re in for a double treat. Just take your souvenir to the Kernels guest services booth near the front entrance, and they’ll give you a coupon for a free take n bake pizza from Hy-Vee. That’s a nice double play!

Free gate giveaways! It’s a fun incentive to arriving early as gates usually open one hour before first pitch. July 25 Electronic Engineering Kernels caps will be given away. On July 26 the popular Kernels black and gold caps will be given away. On August 4, folks get free updated kernels baseball card sets. There are lots of other giveaways coming in August, too.
