The Live Summer Music Scene Is Heating Up In Iowa City
It's not just Cedar Rapids and Marion that have the live music market cornered in the corridor this summer. Iowa City has a concert series you might not want to miss starting tonight.
A mix of live and local music acts take the stage for "Iowa City Unplugged". The event will be set up at the pop-up on College Street, by Clinton Street. It opens tonight, August 2, at 7 p.m. wth Seth Cook, a midwest native of Indiana now based in Nashville, and Iowa City act, "Dashi Project".
If you can't make it tonight, don't worry, "Iowa City Unplugged" runs for a full two months into early fall. Next week, "Two Bit Maniac" will perform. The rest of the schedule is as follows:
- Aug, 9; Two-Bit Maniac
- Aug. 16: Muckrockers
- Aug. 22: Danika Portz (Wednesday show to coincide with Taste of Iowa City)
- Aug. 30: Tanya English Trio
- Sept. 6: Jordan Canzeri w/Iowa Agni and other artists
- Sept. 13: The SunDogs
- Sept. 20: Boot Jack Duo
September 27 will be an open date, listed as a "surprise artist". A wide array of musical acts look to line the concert stage this summer with "Iowa City Unplugged". Enjoy!
