The Taco Depot Has Opened a Second Location

The Taco Depot is bringing its delicious food to the other side of Cedar Rapids! According to the restaurant's Facebook page, The Taco Depot has officially opened a second location.

The Taco Depot, located at 2665 Edgewood Pkwy SW, opened in Cedar Rapids in March of 2019. About six months later, the restaurant announced that they were planning to open a second location in the city in the former Long John Silver's location, which is at 3801 1st Ave SE. At that time, they hadn't started renovations yet and did not have an set opening date.

Last Thursday, June 11th, The Taco Depot finally shared the good news with customers; Taco Depot II is open for business! The only thing that isn't fully operational yet is the drive-thru, thanks to a set-back with their communication system. The post reads:

"The dining room is open and to-go orders are welcome! (319-365-2459) The drive-thru should be ready to rock & roll SOON!"

Taco Depot II is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., but on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays they are open an extra hour, until 10 p.m. They posted an update to the new Facebook page on Saturday, writing:

"We want to thank everyone who has came to try our second location! We’re still getting used to things and still have a couple kinks to iron out, but want to thank you for your patience, understanding and support ."

They also noted that the Taco Tuesday and Taco Saturday specials ($1 Tacos Ramirez) will only be happening at the Edgewood location for the first week or two, NOT the new location.
