Several years ago, Rolling Stone magazine published a readers' poll ranking the "Worst Song Of the 1980s". Topping the list was arguably the biggest hit from a band making their way to Cedar Rapids next week. Starship's "We Built This City" was the song to receive this dubious honor. View the list at the end of this article. (It got an even bigger "honor" from Blender Magazine as the "Worst Song of ALL-TIME").

It's all a matter of opinion, but mine is this is FAR from the worst song of "all-time", or more specifically the 80's. I've often been so bold, for the sake of debate with co-workers, as to call it one of the BEST songs of all time.

Starship morphed out of Jefferson Airplane, and later Jefferson Starship, to become 80's arena-rock icons. While lead singer Mickey Thomas is the only remaining member of any of these incarnations, a lot of reminiscing will take place next Thursday night at the U.S. Cellular Center, as Thomas and his current Starship lineup joins headliner, and fellow classic rock veterans, Boston.

Tell me your choice for "Worst Song of All Time", and if you're going to the Boston/Starship concert, let me know and give me your thoughts afterwards!
