To Some, It's Even More Exciting Than a Restaurant Grand Opening

Remember the old saying "one man's trash is another man's treasure"?

Well, compared to the grand opening of a trendy new restaurant, this may fall short on the excite-o-meter for some people, but I am absolutely thrilled about the ultra-cool Linn County Solid Waste Agency's recycling center.

The super-sized facility is located at 1954 County Home Road, just a few minutes north of downtown Marion. Residents absolutely LOVE this place, and give it rave reviews on Facebook:

On a recent visit to drop off a carload of cardboard, my wife and I snapped photos like a couple of tourists!

And boy, do they take their recycling seriously! If it's reusable, chances are they'll take it. You can find a ton of useful information on their web page to help direct you in before you trek out there:

"Large, bulky items, such as appliances and tires, are kept outside. You'll need to drive your vehicle to the appropriate spot to unload. Smaller recyclables, such as paper, plastic, glass, electronics, batteries, and more, are collected in the Resource Recovery building. Just pull inside and Agency staff will unload your car for you at our County Home Road facility. Hazardous materials are also collected in the Resource Recovery building at our County Home Road location."
