Toyota Unveils New EV Battery With Questionable Display

Every car company in the world is working to figure out the next best version of electric vehicles. Not everyone is convinced to switch to electric for a multitude of reasons, but a big reason why they haven't caught on yet is because people are worried about the range of the vehicles. Toyota wanted to announce their new breakthrough in solid-state battery development, but the way they went about it got more shares about how they displayed the secret ingredient.

Toyota said they expect to have their vehicles' ranges up to 900 miles starting in 2027, thanks to a partnership with Idemitsu Kosan (a Japanese energy company) “to work together in developing mass production technology of solid electrolytes, improving productivity and establishment a supply chain, to achieve the mass production of all-solid-state batteries for battery electric vehicles.”

To show off the new partnership and the excitement about the solid electrolytes, they sent out a press release, which of course, included a photo of the solid electrolytes on display. This is where the announcement went viral because of the container they used.
