The new season of Big Brother (season 19) debuts next week on CBS and two Iowans will be vying for the $500,000 prize.

32-year-old Cody Nickson, originally of Lake Mills, Iowa in extreme north central Iowa, is a construction sales rep by day. His CBS profile says he's never worn a suit or cologne and has "never been offended--not once." Nickson also describes himself as confident, charming, and sweet. I don't like him already. Take it easy, I'm only joking.

The other Iowa native that's on the show is 37-year-old Jason Dent. He's a native of Humeston (extreme south central Iowa) and is a rodeo clown. Dent describes himself as charismatic, ambitious, and athletic. His CBS profile also says, "I'm a storyteller extraordinaire. My stories are true, very handy, very creative, and infectious." Huh? True and creative don't seem to go together but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, especially since he says he'd like to take a radio into the Big Brother house. That automatically makes him a favorite of mine.

Jason actually paid a visit to the KHAK studios last year when he was in town with the World's Toughest Rodeo:

As is always the case, they'll live with the other 14 contestants, shielded from the outside world, and try to get along so they're not voted out. The last person remaining in the house receives the prize money.

The 19th season of Big Brother debuts Wednesday, June 28 at 7 p.m. on CBS 2.
