Sure, Iowa scored more points than Wisconsin on Tuesday night in Iowa City. But make no mistake, it was the defense that led Iowa to the win. Especially on Badger star Ethan Happ. Iowa held Happ to 4 first-half points and frustrated him the whole night in route to an 85-67 victory over Wisconsin.

Much of the defensive credit went to Iowa freshman Luka Garza who irritated Happ for most of the night. Iowa also played great perimeter defense as Wisconsin went just 4 of 18 from three-point range.

Garza was impressive on the offensive end too posting a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Tyler Cook was dominant inside scoring 17 as well. Cook left in the second half with an ankle injury but Fran McCaffery said that he could have returned if the game was in doubt.

Iowa returns to the court Saturday at Nebraska.
