Happy National Paranormal Day! Yes, that's right, May 3rd is Paranormal Day. According to a study from National Today, 90% of us say we are scared of paranormal activities. Too many Hollywood alien movies maybe... In any event, there's actually a website that tracks UFO sightings in the U.S., and breaks down specifically where these UFO sightings are happening.

In just the past decade, The National UFO Reporting Center has had over 80 reported sightings in Cedar Rapids alone. The only city with more sightings is Des Moines. Makes sense that the second largest city in the state would have the second most sightings... but over 80 sightings? Well, some have been labeled as a hoax, and others as satellites or even meteors confused for UFOs. In other words, they've been identified.

Here are some Cedar Rapids highlights that I found humorous from the The National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC):

WATCHING THE METEOER SHOWER WHEN WE SAW 3 TRIANGLE SHAPED OBJECTS THAT WERE IN A TRIANGLE FORMATION FLY BY FAST.

This was reported on 12/14/2016 and labeled a hoax by the NUFORC. Maybe this person had too much eggnog? 'Twas the season after all.

That was from 11/17/2013. I love the emoji at the end. You can see all the Iowa reports by checking out the NUFORC website here. And remember to keep an eye on the sky because you never know when you might have a report worthy sighting! Just don't forget the emoji at the end of your report. ;-)
