One of the most talked about musicals of 2015 is opening this weekend at the University of Iowa's E.C. Mabie Theatre. The Tony award winning "Fun Home" (music by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, and based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel) opens Friday, December 1st.

According to the University Of Iowa's Scool of Theatre Arts Website:

Fun Home is one of the most groundbreaking musicals to emerge in years. Based on Alison Bechdel’s best-selling and moving graphic memoir, it is a refreshingly honest story about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes. With a central character played simultaneously by three different actresses at different ages, Fun Home is a blazingly original heartbreaker and a nonstop treasure of invention that challenges audience expectations.

The production is directed by John Cameron.
