“Waffles” Returns Home to Cedar Rapids Family
Ladies and gentleman, Waffles has been found!
After 9 long days, a Cedar Rapids family has there dog back. Waffles went missing on Wednesday, May 13th, at 5:30 p.m. The family never gave up hope and finally, after searching for days, she was found around 9 p.m. last night, May 22nd!
The family said this in a Facebook post:
"Waffles went missing for 9 full days and with the help on an amazing community and many people on social media, she was found and brought back home!"
Talk about support, the post telling everyone they found Waffles was shared over 650 times. The last time I checked, there were over 400 comments as well. It was pretty cool to see the support for this family here in our community.
A group on Facebook was created and everyone did there best to chip in and help. I have a feeling some lifelong friendships were created because of this, and that's what life is all about.
In a time where our world is upside down, a lost dog brought hope and solidarity to a small group of folks here in Eastern Iowa. It gave us a distraction, and I think it's what we all needed right now.
I'm so happy Waffles is back with his family and I'm sure he is too. It was cold the the last few nights, I'm sure he's enjoying being back in his comfy bed!
To all of you that helped, thank you.
I'm glad this story has a happy ending, it's because of people like you this family has been reunited with their best friend.
