Walmart Is Recalling a Very Popular Vegetable Chopper
If you are heading to America's favorite store, Walmart, anytime soon, there is one product you won't find on the shelves.
In fact, if you bought one from Walmart recently, they are urging you to return it as soon as possible.
Walmart Recalling Popular Veggie Chopper Due to Cutting Risk
According to Food & Wine, Walmart announced a recall of the "Mainstays Electric Mini Choppers" on April 4 due to an increased risk of laceration.
Per the Consumer Product Safety Commission, "The chopper’s blade can operate unexpectedly during assembly or when not enclosed in the container, posing a laceration hazard to consumers."
Whether you're a vegetable grower like Carrie Underwood and farmer Blake Shelton, or just a normal everyday vegetable consumer, if you are chopping your vegetables with the Mainstays Electric Mini Chopper, chop with it no more.
In most cases, a product is recalled after injuries or defects occur while people are using it.
Walmart has received five reports of injuries on this product, which is exclusively sold in its stores. Two of those injuries required medical attention and stitches. The injuries, Walmart explains in its recall notice, all occurred during assembly or cleaning and handling of the chopper.
Walmart says you should bring the product into their nearest store for a full refund. See all of Walmart's recalls at corporate.walmart.com.
