Watch for These Mother’s Day Shopping Scams
Mother's Day is this weekend, and while it would be nice to get your Mom something really nice, there are several common scams you should watch out for.
Trip Deals
Scammers will book real trips. Just not for your Mom. They'll set up phony websites offering travel deals, most frequently to Disneyland or Disney World, and most often using Bitcoin or PayPal as a payment option. They'll then take your information you've entered and book their own vacation and you'll be left with nothing.
Designer Jewelry and Watches
Like with all online shopping, you'll want to do your research to make sure you're buying these high-end items from a reputable company. Fraudulent websites are out there selling stolen jewelry everywhere.
High-end Apparel and Footwear
50% off that designer leather jacket? Sounds too good to be true. That's because it most likely is. Go with that feeling. Again, only buy from familiar retailers.
