What’s Your Favorite Halloween Movie?
The decorations are up. The candy is bought. Now... how about a good 'ol horror movie to set the mood?
Over the weekend I was chatting with my buddy about being a kid and that one scary movie that really scarred you for life.
Most people probably have one. That flick that still gives you mental problems in life.
For me it's a tie between a couple of movies.
I don't know when I first saw this movie, but I remember being in the bathtub and my mother doing the "dah, duh... dah, duh" sounds to scare me.
I can still see Roy Scheider's police chief Martin Brody running out to save the children swimming screaming "get out of the water!"
To this day when I go to the ocean I'll go out in the water... but not too far out.
Another flick that still scares the willies out of me is the original George Romero classic "Night of the Living Dead."
I remember being afraid to take the trash out at night, fearing I would be attacked by a hoard of brain-thirsty zombies. Sometimes I was so sure a hand would come out and grab my leg at night I would jump into an open car door or my bed to avoid being eaten.
"They're coming to get you, Barbara..." still haunts my brain.
(If you're also a fan of this flick, you can actually visit the cemetery where they filmed the movie, Evan's City Cemetery in Pittsburgh. It's one of '10 Iconic Horror Film Locations' you can visit... find the link HERE.)
So what scary movie does it for you? Drop me a comment and let me know.
