Where will you be when the historic total eclipse of the sun takes place on Monday August 21?

Perfect Game Field at Veteran's Memorial Stadium! - As the Cedar Rapids Kernels battle the Beloit Snappers for a noon game under the sun, the sky will darken, the stadium lights will come on and we'll be playing ball under the stars in the middle of the day!

It is expected that over 90% of the sun will blocked by the moon at the eclipse's peak around 1:12 p.m.

What better place to enjoy the slow-building celestial event than at the ballpark with a cold beer and a hot dog?

The noon game combo features a regular sandwich, chips or popcorn, and a 16 oz. regular draft beer or 20 oz. bottled soda or water for just $8.50!

And the first 2,000 fans will receive a pair of solar eclipse viewing sunglasses.

The best part of this plan is that you can totally excuse yourself blowing off a workday because everyone else will be doing the same thing.

The Kernels are expecting a big crowd. KRNA will be broadcasting live form the park, and our sister station KDAT will be on site with prizes, fun and games!

You can reserve your seats now, and get the best view of both the game and the eclipse!

Let's all go and share in this cool event of nature and cheer on our team at the same time!
