Why host your event on land when you could host it on water?!

Earlier this week, I came across an article from the site Only in Your State titled "Rent Your Own Two-Story Party Boat In Iowa For An Amazing Day On The Water." As a native Michigander who grew up on the lake, it immediately piqued my interest. There's nothing I love more than partying on a boat!

Located over in Lansing, Iowa, S&S Boat Rentals is a family-owned and operated business that has a fleet of six houseboats that you can rent out during the spring, summer, and fall months. The official website reads:

"Founded in 1960, our boats provide all of the amenities from home allowing you and your family/friends to fully kick back and enjoy a getaway to the lake. We’ve stocked each of our houseboats with amenities to allow you to kick back and enjoy your time on the Upper Mississippi River of Lansing, Iowa."

The six boats available to rent include:

  • The Monticello - 10 passengers
  • The Party Top Sharpe #1 - 10 passengers
  • The Party Top Sharpe #2 - 10 passengers
  • The River View 15x58 - 10 passengers
  • The River View 16x62 - 10 passengers
  • The Sunstar - 6 passengers

The most popular boat to rent through S&S Boat Rentals is the Monticello. The 62-foot boat features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two refrigerators, an entertainment system, a party top with wet bar, central air conditioning/heat, a water slide, a grill, and a kitchen. After looking through photos, I have come to the conclusion that it's nicer than my house!

Depending on which boat you want to rent, the time of year you want to book, and how long you want to book for, rates at S&S Rentals vary. It appears that this summer is almost completely booked up, but they are already taking reservations for 2023. You can get more information on the website HERE.

If you'd rather take a cruise on a riverboat this summer, there are a few companies here in Iowa that offer those, as well! You can read more about them HERE.
