While shopping at Walgreen's the other day, I happened to find a rack of postcards in one of the aisles. It pleasantly surprised me to see that not only do postcards still exist, but that this particular one still does.

I remember getting this to send to my best friend back home, at probably about 50 cents. That was in 1989 after my family first moved to the "City of Five Seasons". So, naturally, when I saw it 27 years later, I had to pick it up. I don't even know what I paid for it this time around, but whatever it was, it was worth it. A lot has obviously changed in Cedar Rapids since the postcard was current, but it's a neat little piece of history.

Do you have any similar postcard or local memorabilia discoveries? Feel free to share them in the comments.
