Every year since 2003, the Iowa Pork Producers have hosted the 'Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin Contest.' Nominations begin being accepted in the spring, with judging done all summer and into early fall. The winner and runner-ups are always announced in October, because it's National Pork Month. So, without further ado, here is your winner for 2017:

Grid Iron Grill & Sports Lounge is located in Webster City, which is in Central Iowa, and they are the new home to the best breaded tenderloin in the state! The restaurant opened up back in 2008, and the owner says they sell about 400 tenderloins every week. According to the Des Moines Register, one of the judges for the contest commented, "A wonderful golden brown, center cut, cooked to perfection breaded pork tenderloin. The even thickness of the pork loin made this sandwich very enjoyable to eat. A true test of a good breaded pork tenderloin is you can eat it with just a bun. This one was that type of sandwich and I'm ready to go back for another."

Northside Café in Winterset was the 1st runner-up in this year's competition, and The Buffalo Tavern in Burlington was the 2nd runner-up.
