Summer in small-town Iowa always packs a big punch when it comes to county fair festivities and entertainment. Few can match the Great Jones County Fair in that department, but another event has just added a pretty cool show.

It's just been announced that Starship featuring Mickey Thomas will play at the Delaware County Fair this summer, with special guests Georgia Satellites.

It's "VIP Night" in Manchester on July 13, 2019. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, March 15, 2019 at 9 a.m., according to the Delaware County Fair website.

The show will start at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30. This sounds like one amazing 80s party with everyone sure to be dancing and singing along to songs like "Keep Your Hands To Yourself" (remember that song?) and "We Built This City" (I KNOW you remember that one!) on a (hopefully) warm July night.

Other shows that have already been announced for the fair with tickets currently on sale are country acts Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Neal McCoy on July 12.

Sunday, September 1, local favorites the Pork Tornadoes play a separate show at the fairgrounds.
