A popular Eastern Iowa brewery is almost ready to open the doors at their second location in Iowa City! The Coralville-based ReUnion Brewery will begin welcoming customers to their new spot in the Ped Mall on Friday.

Back in February of this year, it was revealed that ReUnion Brewery would be expanding to the heart of Iowa City. The new location is at 111 E. College Street and is actually bigger than the original location at 516 2nd Street in Coralville. According to the Iowa City Press-Citizen, the three-story brewery with a patio will seat around 450 people. The main floor is called "The Brewery" and features seating, TVs, and a brewing system behind the bar. Then there's the lower level, referred to as "The Speakeasy." There are two rooms in The Speakeasy, but one of them won't be open for at least six more months. The article reads:

"When it is open, it will act as an additional dining space that can host live music, such as an evening of jazz or a smaller band."

Both the main level and lower level will offer food service, with different menu offerings than the Coralville location. The Iowa City Press-Citizen says the food will have a "New Orleans twist."

For larger events, guests will be able to check out the third floor. That one will host DJs and live music, plus it will be available for parties, weddings, and other important events. It will only be open when the brewery sees fit.

If you're wondering if the Iowa City ReUnion location will brew its own beer, the answer is yes! They will serve beer brewed in-house, as well as some from their Coralville location and their homemade seltzers.

ReUnion Brewery in Downtown Iowa City will host a soft opening this Friday, October 21st. To start, the tentative hours will be Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., but they eventually hope to be open seven days a week and offer lunch, too. You can read more about the new brewery HERE.
