When I took my first trip to Chicago for my birthday a couple of years ago, I asked listeners to tell me all the best restaurants to try within the city. There were two big names that everyone suggested: Portillo's and Giordano's. Well, I'm happy to report that you don't have to travel to Chicago for either of those restaurants, because both of them now have Iowa locations!

Portillo's Hot Dogs opened up it's first Iowa location back on June 13th. Located in Davenport at 2741 E 53rd Street, the restaurant features "a 50's diner theme, two drive-thru lanes, seasonal outdoor seating, and beer!" They're open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Giordano's Pizza has also made its way to Iowa, but in a completely different city. According to the Des Moines Register, the new restaurant opened July 23rd in the Bridgewood Square retail center at 120 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines. The menu features all of the classic items you can order in Chicago, including their famous stuffed deep-dish pizza. They also offer garlic bread, wings, sandwiches, salads, and some Italian dishes. You can check out the full menu HERE.
