Iowa's favorite theme park is getting ready to open for the 2022 season!

According to a new Facebook post, Adventureland Park will officially open their gates to the public on Saturday, May 14th. If you're a season passholder, you'll be able to visit the park even sooner! There is a special Season Passholder Preview coming up on Saturday and Sunday, May 7th and 8th, and the post promises "special perks and surprises."

If you're hoping to visit Adventure Bay, you'll have to wait a little bit longer. The official opening date for the water park is Saturday, May 28th, which is Memorial Day weekend. There's an exclusive Season Passholder Day coming up on Friday, May 27th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A lot of exciting changes, additions, and updates have been taking place at Adventureland these past few months. Back in December, it was revealed that the park was sold to Palace Entertainment, one of the "top operators of amusement parks in the world," and with the new ownership comes new rides! We reported last fall that there are eight new rides expected to open in 2022, with two additional ones coming in 2023. But, to make room for the new attractions, we have to say goodbye to three older ones: Lighthouse, Falling Star, and Lady Luck. A new ride called The Lighthouse is replacing Lighthouse, Leap Frogs is replacing Lady Luck, and other new family rides include Warhawks, Bernie's Swing, The Revolution, Circus Balloons, The Clipper, Rockin’ Rainbow, and Speedway Racers. Here are a few photos that Adventureland has posted on social media:

Season passes and single day admission tickets are on-sale now online. You can get more information on both options HERE.
